In honor of International Women's Day and Endometriosis Awareness Month, Zinc VC and Frontline Ventures hosted a special screening of Below the Belt: The Last Health Taboo, a powerful documentary that shines a light on critical shortcomings in healthcare systems that disproportionately affect women.
Below the Belt follows the emotional and often challenging journeys of four patients seeking answers to unexplained symptoms. The film explores the social taboos, gender bias, lack of awareness among healthcare professionals, and financial barriers that many women face. It exposes the widespread silence surrounding women's health issues and calls for systemic change to ensure equitable healthcare for all.
We are especially proud that our own Dr. Cristina Fernández Molina and Dr. Cemsel Bafligil Suomi participated as panelists in the discussion following the screening. For us, this event was deeply meaningful. It provided an opportunity to raise awareness and foster important conversations about women's health. We hope that through events like this, we can inspire action and contribute to building a more equitable and effective healthcare system for everyone.
